Kanz ul Huda Publications is proud to have published a book on the sacred litany of “The Red Sulphur”, Al-Kibrīt al-Aḥmar, also known as Durūd-i Kibrīt-i Aḥmar.

It is a sacred invocation attributed to the esteemed al-Sayyid, Sulṭān al-‘Ārifīn (the King of Gnostics), the luminous sage, al-Quṭb al-Anām (the Axis of Mankind), al-Bāz al-Ashhab (the Grey Falcon), Sulṭān al-Awliyāʼ (the King of Saints), Sayyidī Ash-Shaykh Muḥyiddīn ‘Abd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī al-Ḥasanī al-Ḥusaynī, who penned this litany enveloped in a state of spiritual ecstasy and deep love of Sayyidunā Rasūlullāh ﷺ, and bestowed it upon the Chishtiyyah. It is a profound collection of ṣalawāt, litanies and Divine secrets.

Highly revered within the esteemed Chishtiyyah Ṭarīqah (Chishtiyyah spiritual order), this litany is a spiritual treasure bestowed upon the seeker. It is one of the cornerstones for seekers of the tariqa and is to be read daily. This litany is not merely a recitation but a potent instrument for the seeker. It is laden with barakah (Divine blessings) and secrets. It kindles luminous flames of love for Allāh جل جلاله and the Beloved Prophet, Sayyidunā Rasūlullāh صلى الله عليه وسلم, transforming one’s seemingly lifeless heart into a radiant centre of Divine lights.

Al-Kibrīt al-Aḥmar forms an unbreakable, inextinguishable, deep connection with Sayyidunā Rasūlullāh صلى الله عليه وسلم. Consistency in this litany has the potential to open gateways to visions of the beloved صلى الله عليه وسلم, it also gradually enables a continuous presence of heart in the blessed court of Sayyidunā Rasūlullāh .صلى الله عليه وسلم

It sets out the background to the litany and the virtues of reciting it, aswell as delving into the secrets of the litany, especially the secrets of different names by which it is known and why. Further guidance is provided by way of the various types of ijāzaat and how the litany is to be recited, which differs between ijāzah ‘āmma and ijāzah khasah.

This litany serves as more than a basic prayer. It is a mystical force, igniting the heart into a vessel ablaze with the deep and unwavering love of Sayyidunā Rasūlullāh صلى الله عليه وسلم. It has the power to turn the seekers’ spiritual journey into a quest
