Shaykh Habib Umar Al Jilani and Shaykh Saqib travelled together across Srinagar and other cities in Kashmir sharing many meaningful moments along the way. They spent long hours in deep discussion on Madhahib Arba’a, Shafi‘i fiqh and its principles, tasallub, the fitan of our time, and matters of ijma‘ that are often mistakenly presented today as issues of ikhtilaf.

Shaykh Saqib greatly admired Shaykh Umar Al Jilanis passion, clarity, and firmness in both usul and furu‘. Beyond travelling together, they engaged in discussion for extended periods, and built a strong bond. The Shaykh recommended that Shaykh Saqib’s work, Subhan Ar Rahman Anil Jismi Wal Jihati Wal Makaan be translated into Arabic and also invited Shaykh Saqib to his madrasah.

There was a genuine bond between them both, built on mutual respect, a shared concern for the deen, and a deep love for knowledge.

We ask Allah Subhanahu wa ta’aala to elevate the ranks of the great shaykh, Habib Umar Al Jilani and grant him the highest maqam in Jannah. Truly, a beautiful soul.
