Al-Musabba‘āt Al-‘Ashar (The Ten Sevens)

Al-Musabba‘āt Al-‘Ashar (The Ten Sevens)

‘The Ten Sevens’ also known as al-Musabba‘āt al-‘Ashar, is a remarkable Qur’ānic litany bestowed by Sayyidunā Rasūlullāh ﷺ on Abul ‘Abbās Balyā bin Malkān, known famously as al-Khaḍir (Khaḍar/Khiḍar/Khiḍr). The transmission of this sacred practice traces its origins through the Kūfan ascetic, Shaykh Ibrāhīm al-Taymī, who received it directly from Sayyidunā Khaḍir.

Al-Musabba‘āt al-‘Ashar is an extraordinary litany that purifies the soul from transgressions and presents profound spiritual blessings. This sacred Qur’ānic litany, deeply cherished within the esteemed Chishtiyyah Ṭarīqah (Chishtiyyah spiritual order), serves as a Divine sanctuary and an impenetrable defence, offering unparalleled protection against evil forces, harmful influences, and the insidious whispers and attacks of unseen entities. It stands as a comprehensive shield, safeguarding you against both physical and spiritual adversaries, enveloping the reciter in layers of Divine protection and dispelling every form of evil.

It is recommended for daily recitation by seekers of the Chishtiyyah, as it not only attracts the infinite mercy and favour of Allāh ﷻ but also serves as a mighty plea for safety from His wrath. Through this powerful supplication, the seeker not only seeks forgiveness but also draws closer to Allāh ﷻ.

This recitation by Mawlana Syed Zayn Saqibi, has been uploaded to assist seekers in recitation and ensure correct pronunciation. Note: The manner in which Mawlana recites may differ slightly from how the text of the litany appears in the book. He has intentionally included additional waqf (pauses), to enhance the beauty of the recitation and make it easier to follow.

These adjustments are made with full adherence to the sciences of tajweed and qira’at and without altering or affecting the meaning of the words. However, it is recommended that laymen recite as the Arabic text appears.
